Week 3: Chapter 5:1st  October to 7th October 2017

इस सप्ताह के ( this week’s ) commitments

  1.   No to polished rice throughout the week. You can either avoid the rice altogether or eat brown rice.

 Scoring: simple straight-line method: commitment fulfilled for  all 7 days: score: 7/7

2)  No to bakery+ deep fry items



Scoring: straight-line method: commitment fulfilled for all 7 days: score : 7/7.

 3)  You will have at least one protein rich food  item every day. हाँ पर आपका protein चयन हटके होगा. जो चीज़े आपने खाई न हो या कम खाई हो उन चीज़ों के प्रति आप रुचि बढ़ाएंगे. It can be out of three main meals ( breakfast or lunch or dinner)or any quick bites or even having some nuts)

( for vegetarians : paneer, rajma, soya: chunks,milk, tofu, चना, विविध प्रकार की दालें,  कद्दू के बीज (pumpkin seeds), quinoa (not of Indian origin), राजगिरा, nuts like पिस्ता, बादाम and even peanuts… You all can built the list… For all vegetarian friends

For non vegetarians : fish, chicken, turkey..



Scoring : simple straight line method :commitment fulfilled for  all 7 days  : score : 7/7

4)  5 main work outs: running /walking/swimming/cycling/trekking etc etc ( out of 7 days ) : each with little touch of difference

You have to add : any of the following suitable to your mind and body during( can be in beginning/middle/end)of  your each work out

 i)10 minutes breathing exercises /pranayam


ii) skipping : minimum 100 counts

Scoring : do it for 5 days : 7/7

Do it for 4 days : 6/7

Do it for 3 days : 5/7

Do it for 2 days : 0/7

One day or no work out : minus 2

5)  One green tea per day for all the seven days. ( minimum ) ( and it is always without sugar ) every day. It can be dip type tea or boiled one

6)   Warm water before going to sleep : all seven days :

7)   Try to sleep for : 7 hours every night ( minimum )

yes हमें पता है, मुंबई जैसे शहर में ये सुहानी चीज़, रोज़ हर सब को नसीब हो ये ज़रूरी नहीं. ( Yes we know not every one is lucky enough in large metro like Mumbai to have assured 7 hours good sound sleep )


Scoring : 7 hours sleep all nights

 : 7/7

6 to 7 hours (or even more) sleep : any random days : you score :6/7

(example :दो रात आप 6 घंटे सो पाये, चार रात्रि 7 घंटे सो सके, और एक रात 8 घंटे… Your score:6/7

Less than 6 hours sleep , even for one day out of 7 days : 5/7

Anything less than above configuration : 3/7

( power naps during the day are not to be counted. Afternoon sleep is not be counted)

By this time we are able to finalise our tasks after discussions, debates, addition, removal in such a way that the challenges are posted at least one day in advance i.e by Friday. This is also essential as one of our long distance participant is Neha . She is in Australia and her time zone needs some kind of advance notification to take care of logistics related food items.

Sunday starts with Sanjay’s polite request to post the score by afternoon and direct message “If some one not giving scores for 3 consecutive weeks , she or he will be termed as not interested and will be removed from the project and related group. This is not merely a fun competition . This is BNPGRs thoughtful and serious step taken for their members to make their run easy.

Nice to see that  in three weeks we have gained extra wisdom !!”

If this is not enough Suvendu makes it more challenging to laggards and lethargic participants , his challenge “friends …don’t take me wrong …but any score less than 35 ( out of 47 ) is not good for you and for the group.

01/10/2017, 11:03 am – 22134 99205 91+ : I 2nd Suvendu on that. Most of the tasks that have been provided are more about following a discipline in your routine, which in turn will help us in the following weeks.

So now we have motivators , we have genuine pushers , we have team developers .

Towards Sunday night ( 1st October : day 1 of week 3) Suvendu asks a trick question. He wants to club warm water task with green tea

“If green tea taken post dinner before sleep , will it qualify as 2 points? “

Deepa K responds with few words : No…only one point..green tea

And soon follows the chai pe charcha ( the longest tea-talk)

02/10/2017, 10:06 am – 27445 99301 91+ : In-fact Google says it’s helps in digestion if taken post meal.  Have seen Japanese taking it post every meal. I too take green tea or variant of it post dinner and never had issues with my sleep.

 02/10/2017, 10:37 am – 44839 98676 91+ : But neha Japanese always have their dinner between 6-7. So time does matter. There should be gap of 23hrs between ur dinner and bedtime.

Having a selfie with green tea doesn’t guarantee completion of task, rather it is the diligence on the part of the participants that serves the purpose…. 😊

02/10/2017, 9:49 pm – 06424 98205 91+ : Green tea… one must have it 2 -3 times a day… my personal favourite is Organic Tulsi Green Tea.. I feel one should avoid diff favoured like ginger , lemon green tea n all… n consume more of pure green tea. I was suffering from dust allergy for many years.. but since I started consuming green tea… I have controlled on the same… So guys… U may feel little different for few days… but let me assure u once u r use to it…u will love it forever… so keep sipping green tea…

Girls, do you remember that pretty dress, which you used to wear in the parties and all the eyes used to turn around you or for men, that jeans which used to be so comfortable you used wear it everywhere.

But, alas…wo pretty dress ab ye body size me jata nahi, ya wo jeans abhibhi cupboard me hai per pehen nahi sakte. Reason, of course, unwanted extra weight :(Now its the time, to get it outs, and aapne aap se vaada karo, ye remaining 10 week me, mai fir se ise pehen saku. Aap apna itana accha dress/jeans aise hi bhula nahi sakate…kyu???  

Aur jinke paas aise purane dress abhi wardrobe me nahi hai, mai to kehti hu, apne liye ek one short size dress/jeans le lo, aur pratigya karo ki mera weigh/size ye dress ke hisab se karunga/karungi. Jab kharcha hoga to motivation apne aap badhega 😉

Day 4 :Why No Weight loss seen???

[10/4, 9:42 AM] Bhagyashree Mahale Bnp: My weight is not going down now..Do i do a GM diet for next 3 days? [10/4, 10:08 AM] Deepa Mhambre Bnp: Hi. Don’t feel disheartened at not losing weight…no problem. Somtyms, you lose it slow. Ther will b tyms Wen you will lose one week, may not lose in the nxt week…n so on. It’s perfectly fine.  

We would not suggest GM diet coz it’s a crash diet. U can’t sustain that weight loss. A gradual weight loss is better than a drastic one.

Well, the Dons among the losers this week are….

They have raced past the other two teams that उनको पकडना मुश्किल ही नही, नामुमकीन भी था 😁😁  

But folks, the race is not won yet….many more weeks to go… So, get set… ready…n charge!!!!..…towards this week’s challenge👍🏻👍🏻
