Week 7 : Chapter 10


Sunday, 29th October to Saturday, 4th November 2017

Deepa Katrodia BNP: सप्ताह 7 के weight loss challenges

1)4 days no wheat:

 including refined wheat or whole wheat: so, no chapattis, no bread of any type (*you may try नाचणी, jowari, ताण्डूल rotis*)

Scoring:  do it for 4 days: 7/7. Do it for 3 days: 5/7

Do it for 2 days: 3/7 ….1 or less: 0/7

2)Honey and lemon with warm water in morning (those who want to avoid honey can have warm water with cinnamon)


 : all 7 days

Scoring: simple straight-line method: do it for 7 days: 7/7. do it for 2 days: 2/7

3) 5 days 1 min full plank and both sides plank 45 seconds (minimum: *please increase* the time duration each days)

Scoring: do it for 5 days: 7/7. Do it for 4 days: 5/7

Do it for 3 days: 3/7 ….2 or less: 0/7

4)Cook with your family:

cook (once during the week) any one of the recipes given by team leaders. We will share 4 different recipes (veg and non veg) You need to cook along with any one or more core family member (this is intended to take our BNP weight loss programme and BNPGR spirit to each house hold.).

Please have orientation programme of your kitchen before you start. 😃😃

You must be the prime chef (*not meant to regular home makers*) and can take help of your core family members

Scoring: do it once and you get: 7/7

Not done: you will get minus 2 points. (homemakers: please request your family members to take lead and cook (you are not supposed to cook but may help them… You’re this week’s task is to motivate your family to cook😎😃) so that you get 7 points😃)

5) Sprouts:

6)veg clear soup or for non veg friends: chicken soup: before dinner for 4 days

7) Game/s weight loss team will play!

4 the November, Saturday we will organise the group fun (with calories burn) game/s at BNP. You are requested to join in max number.

Can’t come on Saturday: *You must play one game (minimum 30 minutes to 60 minutes) with your core family*(give them one more quality time apart from cooking) on any one day during the week (. Badminton, Football, Basketball, Table tennis etc *medium intensity outdoor game*) You need to post the photo of you playing with your family.

Scoring: Do it once :7/7

Don’t do it: minus 2


Task No 4: Cook with your family: The game changer


Out of 84 tasks (12 weeks x 7 each time), If one has to take feedback on most influential task this can be one of the most interesting tasks. Cooking with/for your family moved the whole weight loss project at family orbital. Weight loss project now is no more an individual effort but a family event. Husbands who have not entered the kitchen since long start discovering the new geography and family members are happy being surprised.

But he has taken a single sip and told me that why u enrolled in weight loss program. Better u removed our name. That day I was getting late for office then also I made veg soup for him. From that onwards I started following diet plan strictly for him. Very innocently he is following. Today I got ready vegetable soup nd Dalia kichdi (very tasty) first time in my life. Not even he messed kitchen. Today I felt very lucky to have Mr. Prabhu in my life. Task No 6: Recipes for week 7

29/10/2017, 9:37 am – Deepa Katrodia Bnp:

Recipe 1:  healthy tasty multi- grain Parathas. Very useful during the no-wheat days. 

Take equal measure of jawar atta, nachni atta, makkai atta. Add a little soya atta (optional) 

Add finely chopped coriander, green chillies, jeera, onions. Add salt to taste and make a tight dough of it. Roll out Parathas using this dough. Have this hot along with dudhi raita. 

For dudhi raita…chop dudhi to small pieces and lightly steam it. Add the same to curds. Add black salt, roasted cumin powder and black pepper.


Filling, nutritious n yummy! Enjoy!!!

Hi Guys, here you go with a non – veg preparation which is easy and quick to make and tastes yumm. 

Recipe 2: Chicken Stir Fry with veggies

Serves: -4


* 3 chicken breasts

* 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced

* 1 yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced

* 3 stick green onion, chopped

* 1 cup mashrooms chopped

* 1 cup broccoli chopped

* ½ white onion, diced

* Half lemon juice

* 1 Tbsp oil (olive oil preferable)

* Dash of salt and black pepper

* Pinch of red pepper flakes

* 10 pods of Garlic, finely chopped



  1. Take a pan or wok and heat the oil.
  2. Stir fry the half of garlic for 30 seconds.
  3. Add chicken and stir fry till it turns golden brown. Add pinch of black paper. Once almost cooked, keep it aside in plate
  4. Again stir fry remaining garlic
  5. Add onions stir fry 1 minute.
  6. Add mushrooms, stir fry 1 minute.
  7. Add broccoli, stir fry 1 minute. Cover the pan for 2 minutes so that all ingredients are cooked well. Remove the cover now.
  8. Add red and yellow pepper and stir fry for 1 minute.
  9. Do not overcook veggies it should have some crunch in it.
  10. Add chicken which was kept aside and add the green onions now
  11. Mix it well for a minute or 2
  12. Add some lemon juice and pinch of red chilli flakes



Note: –

  1. earlier i used to add 1 small spoon full honey as well, but now a days try to stay away from anything sweet😀



29/10/2017, 10:12 pm – 89871 98921 91+: As we are allowed chicken soup this week, I want to contribute a homemade chicken soup

Recipe 3: tasty chicken soup, that you won’t mind having every day. 

First part is, make the chicken stock. For this,

In a large vessel/stock pot, take 5 litres water.

Add 10-15 Pieces of chicken (bony pieces in a few pieces of meat), 1 large chopped onion, 1 large chopped tomato, 15 garlic smashed, 1″ PC ginger smashed, 15-20 pepper corns smashed, 5-6 cloves, 2″ cinnamon sticks 4-5 bay leaf 

Bring to a boil. Then reduce heat n simmer on slow fire for at least 1 hour. (1-hour n slow fire simmer is very important).  By then the stock should reduce in quantity by at least 1/4th. Drain it n you have a good quality chicken stock. This can be stored in fridge/freezer.


For making chicken soup, heat little butter/ghee/olive oil in a vessel, add 4-5 finely chopped garlic n fry till it is brown (almost burnt), add 2/3 spring onion n sauté, add assorted chopped vegetables (carrot, mushrooms, bell peppers, zucchini, French beans, etc) n sauté for 2-3 mins (let vegetable remain crunchy), add meat from boiled chicken, add chicken stock prepared earlier, salt n freshly ground pepper. Bring all to a boil. Let it simmer for 5 mins. Soup is ready. You can also add couple of Maggie chicken soup cube for extra flavour, if u want, but this soup already has lot of flavour

Emotions: (group members not doing enough)

During the weight loss journey there are interesting developments. The whole weight loss project is based on the commitments given by each participant to her/his to respective team. The performance of group can improve only if majority are putting in sincere efforts. Members have joined the weight loss project primarily for self-benefit. At times within one team there are some exceptions. The team does not win despite super sincere efforts of the dedicated ones.

I am very pleased that many of us are taking our program positively. We are here as a team to motivate each other and get ourselves also benefitted in return. Though as a leader, I want each one to score and contribute, but ultimately individual needs to decide how much he/ she wants to get benefitted and how his/her performance should not affect teams result. We all are adults and have our own concise.

So, guys, aisa na ho ke jyaada push kareke apne group se log bhaag jaye. 😉 Let’s all work together for it. Looking at the bigger picture, my highest priority is to see you guys slim n trim, in some sexy, dashing outfits. That is what will make an ultimate winner. So, push hard and be realistic.
